Fit for Duty – Be in a state to perform work safely
Working at Height – Protect yourself against a fall when working at height
Hot Work – Control flammables and ignition sources
Electrical – Protect yourself against electrical shocks
Bypassing Safety Controls – Obtain authorization before overriding or disabling safety controls
Safe Mechanical Lifting – Plan lifting operations and control the area
Work Authorization – Work with a valid permit when required
Driving – Follow safe driving rules
Confined Space – Obtain authorization before entering a confined space
Energy Isolation – Verify isolation and zero energy before work begins
Line of Fire – Keep yourself and others out of the line of fire
H2S Wells – Ensure that H2S gas concentrations are always at acceptable limits during work
Amphion Drillers
Provide incoming drillers unfamiliar with the Amphion system a complete curriculum to assist in the transition from a brake handle system.
Career Development: Driller, Derrickhand, and Motorhand
Trainees learn the leadership, communication, and technical skills required of each position and the step-by-step role each plays from rig up to rig down.
Career Development: Rig Manager
Equip new or prospective Rig Managers with leadership and technical skills to effectively manage a rig and its crew.
Field Superintendent
Designed to further develop leadership skills of the Field Superintendent by introducing tools and strategies for interpersonal relationships, leadership courage, and financial management.
New Employee Orientation
New Toughnecks learn how to establish themselves as professionals and take responsibility for oil drilling safety with a Target Zero mindset. Precision Drilling’s Core Values, company policies, procedures, and rig equipment are also introduced. An IADC Rig Pass SafeLand accredited course, it meets EnForm requirements.
Planned Safety Observation
Teaches effective communication skills to recognize, correct, and prevent unsafe work behaviors using a positive organized process that encourages oil drilling safety.
